What Is Tirzepatide?

Similar to Semaglutide, Tirzepatide (brand name Mounjaro) is a once-weekly injectable GLP-1/GIP medication used for weight loss. Tirzepatide combines the benefits of a GLP-1 and a GIP for faster, more effective weight loss results. These two medications work together by stimulating the release of insulin and suppressing the release of glucagon from the pancreas, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.

Tirzepatide has shown significant reductions in A1C and weight loss and works by delaying gastric emptying which helps decrease appetite and increase feelings of fullness, as well as an increase in energy expenditure.

For those that have not seen the expected results with Semaglutide, Tirzepatide can help them achieve their goals.

Tirzepatide should only be used under the guidance and prescription of a healthcare provider.

Schedule an initial virtual or in person exam with our nurse practitioner. After a quick assessment our provider will determine if Tirzepatide is right for you.

Tirzepatide requires once a week injections, at any time of day, with or without food. Average weight loss is 1-5 pounds per week.

Average time on the Tirzepatide weight loss program depends on each individual's goals but time varies between 20-40 weeks to safely and effectively reach appropriate weight loss goals.
